In part two of my Hair Review Series featuring BetterLength, I will be sharing my initial impression of the Natural Textured Ponytail – 100% Virgin Human Hair Drawstring Ponytail; Hair Texture: Kinky Coarse (Natural hair blow out) out of its packaging.

Now, let us get down to talking about the 100% Virgin Human Hair Drawstring Ponytail.
BetterLength Brand Packaging
First, aside from the courier packaging, the Drawstring Ponytail is packaged in a hot pink polymail bag, sealed and labeled with my order details (name of the company, order number, name, purchased date, quantity, and the product details).
Upon opening the package, I was presented with “BetterLength Hair for Black Women” label in gold typography dusted with some shimmer on a gorgeous black satin drawstring bag, lined with hot pink on the inside and on the drawstring.
And lo and behold my 100% Virgin Human Hair Drawstring Ponytail awaited me in a clear plastic pvc hair extension bag.

Now, my initial thoughts of the Drawstring Ponytail – Kinky Coarse straight out of the plastic pvc bag was that it had met my expectations in its natural virgin state; unprocessed with no products.
The four areas that I am going to quickly cover pertaining to the hair are: appearance, construction, color, feel, and odor.
Appearance
The Drawstring Ponytail is true to texture, it gives a kinky coarse natural blow out appearance with a natural sheen.
The top of the ponytail is a bit textured, and then gradually straightens out toward the ends of the hair indicating a line of demarcation.
Although the textured/new growth-look at the top of the ponytail comes across pretty realistic; I prefer a smooth consistency throughout (from roots to ends) the hair.
However, the line of demarcation presented in the hair can easily be fixed with a straightener, it will just require you to allocate slightly more time for styling.
In addition, the Drawstring Ponytail is thick with high density throughout.
Customization/Construction
I am no hair expert when it comes to customization/construction of hair units, but based on my observation I am satisfied with the customization of the ponytail.The wefts are concealed, there are two wigs combs attached to the hair net, and a drawstring for maximum security.
Color
The ponytail is natural black (similar to 1B/2 as stated on the website).
Feel
The ponytail is soft and smooth to touch; I experienced no shedding and tangles (yet) after repeatedly running my fingers through the hair.
The ponytail definitely has weight to it due to the thickness and density.
Odor
Consider washing the hair before installing as the hair has an odor, just like any hair you would purchase from a hair company. However, after the initial wash I am certain the odor will subside.
Final Thoughts/ Comment Below
BetterLength definitely met my expectations with their 100% Virgin Human Hair: Drawstring Ponytail in Kinky Coarse (natural blow out).
I am more than satisfied with my order, and I look forward to being able to install and style it. I do have plans to dye the hair, but at a later date. For now, I will maintain the ponytail in its natural color.
I would recommend the ponytail to anyone who is seeking a unit which requires the bare minimum maintenance and styling.
