Just over a year later and I am back with another Sephora haul, sharing with you some new skincare products that I secured from The Ordinary skincare line. I also repurchased some products covered in my initial Sephora haul, and I am going to let you in on my observations of the overall health and appearance of my skin during my time using them. So, if you are interested to know what I picked up, keep on reading.

1. The Ordinary
100 % Plant-Derived Sqaulane | $9.80 CAD
Size: 1 oz/ 30mL
The 100% Plant-Derived Squalane is a hydrator solution. Its primary purpose is to support healthy hydration. With squalane as its highlighted ingredient, you can expect a lightweight, quickly absorbed hydrator which offers humectant, emollient and softening benefits.
The 100% Plant-Derived Squalane is ideal for dry skin, but can be used for normal, combination, and oily skin types. Sqaulane contains anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties while increasing cell regeneration and encouraging a hydrated youthful glow.
How to use: Apply a few drops daily or as needed to the entire face — ideally after water-based treatments.
2. The Ordinary
Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% | $7.70 CAD
Size: 1 oz/ 30 mL
Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% is a high strength vitamin and mineral blemish formula with highlighted ingredients niacinamide (10%) and zinc PCA (1%). Suitable for normal, dry, combination, and oily skin types.
Niacinamide is a Vitamin B3 derivative which offers a myriad of skin benefits. Niacinamide reduces hyperpigmentation and the appearance of enlarged pores; boosts hydration by creating a protective barrier function of the skin; that prevents the hydration from escaping into the environment; and also contains anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties for a visibly healthier and radiant skin.
Zinc Pyrrolidone Carboxylic Acid (PCA) regulates sebum secretion with effective anti-inflammatory properties that alleviate redness and irritation, supporting the healing process of the skin.
How to use: Apply a few drops to the entire face in AM and PM before applying heavier creams.
Precautions: Do not mix niacinamide with Vitamin C. Topical Vitamin C should be applied at alternate times with Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% in the AM. If not, this formula can affect the integrity of pure-form Vitamin C.

3. The Ordinary
Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% | $9.80 CAD
Size: 1 oz/ 30mL
Review: The Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% claims to visibly target hyperpigmentation, dark spots, uneven tone and signs of age. Although I did not notice any visible changes, I still really enjoyed using this product. I like that the Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% is lightweight, non-greasy, and gives off a healthy glow to the skin.
4. The Ordinary
Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution | $10.90 CAD
Size: 8 oz/ 240mL
Review: The Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution has become one of my skincare staples. In my original Sephora haul, I reported that I noticed my skin’s texture and tone improved; visibly smoother and slightly even. I even took it a step further by applying the Glycolic Acid 7% to my underarms [ How to: apply the solution to a cotton pad, then swipe it over the underarms ] to solely reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation in the affected area.
Apparently, the Glycolic Acid 7% acts as a deodorant; claiming to prevent perspiration, body odor, and reduce hyperpigmentation.
Consistency is key when it comes to the effectiveness of this product, and of any skincare regimen. Therefore, I intend to continue to use the products mentioned in this haul.
