Celebrating my blog anniversary (June 19) with a new review! Summer is approaching, and it is time for a new wig. You already know first impressions are everything, and when I saw this specific unit online, it stopped me dead in my tracks.
In today’s post, I am giving you my honest review on whether or not the Chocolate Brown Yaki Straight Layered Bob Glueless wig is really as good as it looks online.
Let me preface this by saying I am no stranger to this company. I have a long history of ordering from them, so whether you are new to my blog or a returning reader, you probably know the brand I am talking about: ISEE Hair. Over the years, I have shared a few reviews of their units, and today we are putting another one to the test!
Wig Details & Purchase Info
Lately, I have been really into shoulder-length layered bobs, but what initially captivated me with this unit was the rich chocolate color pictured on the model. And knowing it came as a pre-cut layered bob completely sealed the deal for me, so I immediately placed my order.

First Impression
Review:
Now, let’s get into what you really came here for: my first impression and overall review of the Chocolate Brown Yaki Straight Layered Bob Glueless wig.
Straight out of the package… well, I have some thoughts, but I will save those for the end of this post. First, let’s discuss the hair quality and the overall cap construction.
In terms of the hair quality, the Yaki texture felt soft and mimicked a blown-out, natural look. At 180% density, the hair felt lightweight with plenty of movement—perfect for the summer heat and breeze.

The hair came pre-plucked with tiny knots, giving the illusion of a natural hairline. No extra work was required on my end. The cap construction did not disappoint. The front section of the 3D dome cap was a lace front where individual strands were hand-tied to the transparent lace, and the back of the cap was traditionally wefted. With the help of the adjustable elastic band, the cap fit my head circumference (21.5”) perfectly, laying the lace snug against the skin for a seamless, undetectable appearance. To top it all off, the unit was breathable, featured detachable combs (which I personally remove since I don’t use them), and the ear-shape design made for a comfortable fit.

My Initial Thoughts
As for my first thoughts? Truth be told, the very first thing I noticed when taking the wig straight out of the package was the color—and unfortunately, I was disappointed.Instead of the rich chocolate brown ISEE Hair advertised on the model that initially captivated me, the unit I received was a reddish-brown with subtle blonde highlights. It was definitely giving ginger or cinnamon brown. Don’t get me wrong, the color is nice, but it was not what I anticipated.
Furthermore, the layers on the bob were questionable and required me to cut additional layers to properly frame my face.
Room For Improvement
ISEE Hair should really consider updating the color descriptions to match the actual shade of the unit. This would allow customers to make a sound decision before purchasing.

Final Thoughts
You are probably wondering: did I return the unit? The simple answer is no.
Although I am not completely in love with how the color looks on me, I decided to rock it anyway. On the bright side, aside from that mishap, the wig is exactly what I wanted. After washing, blow-drying, straightening, trimming the lace, tinting it with foundation, and face-framing the best way I know how, I am overall pleased with the results—even with minimal shedding here and there.

This is easily the perfect hair for the warmer months. Between the natural silk-press texture, the breathability, and the great movement, it’s a win for me!
Since this is a 100% human hair unit, it can be dyed. However, I do not have any plans to dye it at this time—maybe I will attempt that in the future.
